subject: `OUTDATED` SOFTWARE

I'm in enthusiastic agreement with posts supporting the use of "old" software
so long as it does what one needs done. Can't help the suspicion that the
addition of bells & whistles is often a weak attempt to obsolete earlier
versions to boost sales revenue w/o adding genuinely useful capacities. The
result often seems to be bloatware.
But I've got a question in that regard.
I'm convinced old Express Publisher (2.0!) will handle my needs. I do,
however, need some steers, so I've been trying to find a relevant BBS or
I-Net mailing list or similar where users might foregather. Can't find
anything!
The original publisher was Power Up! And Power Up! appears now to be
powerless, indeed non-existent. Apparently it yielded to something called
SoftKey International, which I've also been unable to find by e-mail or
otherwise.
Anybody have any suggestions? I'd sure appreciate. --ed
