Of course hiring executives have more than blindness on their minds when they
interview a blind person. But if you don't think their images,
misconceptions, and sterotypes don't enter into hiring decision, then you
have never sat on either side of the table. I have sat on both sides, and it
is more fun on the hiring side.
Magoo has and will influence these executives. If it "crackpot" to try to
prevent the reinforcement of sterotypes and misconceptions about blindness,
then I plead quilty. But I'm not going to just sit around and whine about it
or try to agnore it. I prefer to DO something. I have posted to the
alt.disney newsgroup. So far, I feel very lonely out there.
