-=> Quoting Sondra Ball to Robin Arnhold <=-
Hi, Sondra,
SB> I was at a conference last week. I met a man there who is more in
SB> tune with the physical world than anyone I've ever met before. Before
SB> the first night was over, he knew there were three different types of
SB> lightning bugs outside the conference area. He knew all the flowers.
SB> He knew the wind. He knew the color of every dress he saw, and every
SB> wall. He was an astonishing and delightful person.
I find such people interesting and fascinating. They usually have a
wealth of little-known facts about the world around us.
SB> Reality *is*
SB> utterly delightful, you know!
Especially when somebody else doesn't come along and pave it over, put up
a mall with chain stores and fast-food restaurants, and put a toxic waste
dump next door. Oops! I'm being a bit cynical again. Anyway, in other
words, the inability of most people to appreciate the physical world as
this man does has caused a lot of environmental degredation. We need
more people like this man.
SB> Margaret Benbow is a rising name among poets.
It seems I will have to think about dusting off some 'I remember when'
stories. :>
Take care,
Robin
