LOL  I also can be convinced to go fishing in cold or hot weather at dawn
and understand the need to spend Sunday afternoon shooting skeet as well as
the necessity of buying pickup trucks, tools, boats, fishing, hunting and
outdoor gear, and assorted shotguns, handguns and rifles.  I never liked
flying in small planes, though, and came late to appreciate motorcycles. 
That was probably the deciding factor.
