subject: OLIVE THROATED CONURES &

No, not really.
I have gotten my fair share of good deals and bad deals.
I have a small business that does not make a lot of money.
I buy some of the best products in my opinion for my birds and
my expenses are high.
Therefore it is necessary to put feelers out for what I am looking for
and qualify the statement that I need to be caught while I have the
money.
I can ALWAYS find a bill to pay or use the money elsewhere for sexing,
etc. Also for groceries...
I just happen to need some of the most commonly needed birds, just like
everyone else posting a wanted: ad. Probably the only uncommon thing
I've got are the Red bellied Macaws and they aren't old enough to s/s,
which I prefer, and the Olive throated conures. Also Painted conures.
I got the Olives from Dr. John Olsen, DVM of Busch Gardens. Therefore I
am trying to locate stock from elsewhere around the country, such as
Texas, where there have been recent seizures and people do have
unrelated stock. I lost track of the one lead I had there.
I am also at the end of this years breeding, not quite started up again,
probably not til winter is in full swing. Therefore $$ is in shorter
supply.
I only have a few small conure for sale, one red throated, one green
cheek, more green cheek eggs due to hatch, parrotlets due to hatch, a
few tiels, a few budgies(English) and the hybrid Miligold Macaw babies
left. Never intended to breed hybrids, but the pair was included in a
loan contract. They had never bred before and looked like hell. Never
even came on the property til I had them fully checked out. Tests
verified they were very sick with bacteria when I got them and had to
medicate them. I cleaned them up and lo and behold they presented me
with four babies. Couldn't do anything to them. So I've raised them and
they are beautiful. They are only to go as pets and I haven't sold any
yet as I only want them to go to the right tpe of person. They look like
a very green blue and gold with red on the abdomens. One is very red and
we call her Colonel Redlegs (some Civ war thing, Ed named her...)
I've looked around for another mismatched pair that was clean to buy to
split up an re-pair these guys to. I have the better pairing, a Military
hen and a B&G male. At least I know they are fertile, are good parents,
and all of their "pipes"are in working order. I don't know if it would
work to split them up, though. They might pine for each other. I guess
I would just have to try it.
Anyway, I just went through litigation with this person that previously
owned them as she tried to get out of the loan arrangement which was for
three years. I ended up making a purchase agreement for the batch of
birds, I think it was 25 total. Includes my egglaying
Greenwings, 2 pr Orange Wings, the Bluefront amazon male that helped
provide me with 3 chicks this year, the yellow Crown Amazons, a pair of
Goffins, and several pair of conures including and excellent pair of
White eyes. The Greenwings are laying from the perch however, and I
don't know why. They WERE in the box one time this year but did not lay
then.
TTYL,
Barbara
