BG> Given that they've been doing it that way for at least 9 years, BG> I'd tend to agree. However, I also agree that the necessity of BG> writing the baud rate to NVRAM with &W after a change of port speed BG> in the term should be far better documented than it is right now. DD> I believe that USR have some notion that users of their DD> modems will be capable of simple logical deduction. You might care to explain why only USR feels like that on the ATZ command, and why the didnt dein to document the fact that their implementation of the ATZ command differs significantly from how the rest of the modem manufacturers in the use of the NVRAM speed after its OKed back at the speed determined from the AT letters, and why it makes the slightest sense to be doing it differently to all the other modem manufacturers, including Hayes, Dave. Doesnt actually strike me as being too logical at all. Downright bloody quirky and non standard in fact. For no good reason too. @EOT: ---* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/809 934 |
