Hello Robert....

I enjoyed the way you respectfully capitalized THE DETECTIVE! (I would put
that part of your message in one of those quote things, but I can't seem to
remember how to do it). He really was THE DETECTIVE as Irene was THE WOMAN!

I took down the names of the books you suggested and will check into them on
my next trip to the library, then let you know how they struck me.

You like South Florida mysteries! That sounds like the Travis McGee books.
My father's family lives in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale area and after a visit down
there (too hot and humid for me) I had what I refer to as
"My Travis McGee period" and really enjoyed it! That was in the 1970s.
I guess it is fair to say that I have done a lot of mystery book "surfing"
since then.

I remember seeing all the old Basil Rathbone Sherlock movies and thought that
no one could ever take his place...until the Jeremy Brett series on TV. The
boys said they thought I was going to cry when he died. I must have gotten
over it because I am eagerly awaiting the NEXT Sherlock.

Regards....Polly
