Hi there, I have recently started watching the Blakes 7 series after a few years of a friend telling me how great it is. Now that I am *firmly* hooked (I think it even rivals Dr. Who which is my fav. sf series), I have a number of questions that may be trivial in nature to some of you but I hope I get some answers: BTW, if there is a FAQ that covers any of these, just tell me where (on internet) or pleas send me one. Thanx. [BTW2, I am only up to "Countdown" so please, no spoliers!] 1) The Blakes 7 logo looks very like the original Star Trek Enterprise badge thingy on its side, even the orbit line. Also transporters are used in both, and the crew are on a ship exploring space, encountering the odd alien here and there (although Blakes 7 has a much stronger overall direction - destroy the Federation). Ahh thats the other one - "the Federation" are used in both, in ST, they are the good guys, in Blakes 7 they are the bad guys. There are probably a lot more connections you could find (eg Blake's character and Kirks, logical Avon and Spock etc) , and I'm sure this has been seen before. But my question is this : Was it intentional? If so, who was influenced? 2) There have been quite a number of actors that have been in both Blakes 7 and Dr. Who (most notably, Avon). Is there a list? 3) What is the maximum speed of the Liberator? I seem to recall Standard by 12 or something being mentioned early on, but I'm sure they have travelled at Standard by 20 later on! 4) As an overall question : There have been MANY times (even in the section I have seen, tapes 1-11) when Travis could have killed Blake. Most of these would have either killed him as well (or others like Servalan [BTW, that name could be Server-Lan, wierd eh?]). But as I recall, there was an episode where Travis (the original, and best, well so far anyhow, one) was trapped in a room with Blake. Some Federation guards were blasting into the room to kill Blake but stopped when they saw Travis in there. Blake started to run away and Travis called out something like "Keep shooting! Don't worry about, me, just kill Blake!". Also, the episode where Blake is cloned, and a clone is presented to Travis, he instantly kills him. So with this attitude in mind, why does Travis *ever* hesitate to kill Blake when he can? Three times that I remember are : (1) when he is marking him with the Imipac gun (he could have killed him with his finger thing) (2) the stand off on the planet where ORAC was (at the end of that episode) and (3) when Blake goes to "Control" to destroy it and finds an empty room, at the end when Servalan is "hostage". [Last one] (5) The mutoids that both Servalan and Travis use are always females (well so far anyhow). Why? And what are they anyhow? Do they have emotions? Are they stonger than humans? How? etc etc Sorry for the long message but I need some answers! Thanx in advance for any replies I get... Rafy ...
