I had the same problem recently. While I don't remember the exact details, it 
involved a mismatch in software versions. I had versions of FF/TB that I had 
installed myself, both the official Mozilla ones and Peter Weilbacher's plus 
versions installed via eCS 2.0 RC2. The versions were all over the map. The fix 
was to re-install the official versions, currently 2.0.0.9 for both FF & TB. I 
probably could have figured out which was which, but just felt it was time to 
reset everything to known values!
