Patrick,
Is there anything that can be done to improve the performance of my new
SupraExpress 336i PnP? It seems to have difficulties with transfering files
from some BBS's. At times even with a 24000 connection, file transfers
hesitate and give an overall transfer rate of 700 - 800 bps. On other BBS's,
have gotten blazing transfer rates, 3,000+. Also, haven't been able to get
anything faster than a 26400 connection. The particulars of my settings and
modem are:
Using ProComm Plus for Windows v3.0
Initialization string:
ATV1E1S0=0
OK
AT&F2&C1&D2&K3S95=3
OK
ATL1M1S7=60S11=55S0=0
The SupraExpress has ROM 50500001-001
and V1.440-09 19
My computer is a Compaq Presario 866 with an upgraded BIOS chip and an
upgraded CPU from a 486DX@-66 to a Pentium Overdrive 83 MHz.
The modem is on COM 3 and IRQ5 (not sure on the IRQ #)
Your comments would be appreciated.
P.S. Did try software XON/XOFF but the SupraFAXmodem v.32 bis (14.4 modem) on
my Bear Cavern BBS (360) 573-2054 would accept file transfers.
