Hello Rick,
>>> Bet you a dollar to a donut the modem Rick is referring to is a
>>> V.34 Accura and the 56K refers to the port speed. :-)
RG>> It is an actual genuine 56Kflex external Hayze gizmo. My port is
RG>>locked at 56k though with PcBoard BBS software.
> You should up that to 115,200.
My "integrated" uarts on the Promise VLB controller card in this 486dx
33mhz have problems with data over runs using PcBoard's Internal Fido
Mailer. Setting them to 57600 cures the problem.
>>> I _know_ people are using Hayes 56KFlex because it has been

RG>> As I mentioned before, I don't have a K56flex server to call. My
RG>> ISP is doing x2 now and will add KFlex when the ITU ratifies the
RG>> 56k specs. I have Couriers for my ISP connects... :)

I realize that what the ITU 'releases or recommends' will be a dukes'
mixture of everything out there now and more...or maybe less. But ioNET
(my ISP) uses USRs and sells them also. If you're bumping around the
net with nothing to do, check out www.ionet.net -- that's the home page.
They aren't going to 'do' temporary KFlex just cuz there is a helluva
base of Rockwell K56 modems out now. :( ...marketing & bean counters...
later pardner,
Rick
