The latest kernel works fine.

Form the UpDtCD list I cannot tell if you ever got a functioning CD.

If you do get a functioning CD, there is one glitch in the installer.
The discussion below should get you thru it.

Good luck,
Ray

What I had was a SYS0038 error
"Unable to find G device"
Return error code to program?
End program?
Retry Command?

Before I wrote last time it seemed as if Retry or Return Error Code did
nothing. I tried again and keep entering "return error code" atleast 4
or 5 times and if finally went on and did a normal install. Apparently it
eventually found the CD or else it was REALLY confused and thought
something else was G:. Anyway, this is the first time I've seen this
after making a number of UPDATE CDs with older versions of UPDCD and
installing with them.

This strange behaviour occured immediately AFTER the screen where OS/2
Install allows me to specify the drive and run Fdisk to mark it
installable, which I did. AFTER it got past the error I was at the
screen where it asked me if I wanted to format the partition.
