subject: Dreaded `OS/2 is unable to operate your hard disk`

All,

I gave up on the bootable diskette idea (in a previous thread) and
decided to go the route of the UPDCD to try to get to a command prompt
on a new laptop. After many tries, I finally got the CD to boot OS/2
Warp 4.0 and got as far as the "OS/2 is unable to operate your hard
disk". I am using DANIS506.ADD (1.8.1) and DANIDASD.DMD (10-31-01).
This computer has a SATA hard disk in it of 160 GB. I have commented
out most of .snp lines in the SNOOP.LST. So, I don't know what else
it could be. Is there a specific kernel I should be using? Any ideas
appreciated.
