Well, who'da thunk it but I just found a Fjord picture in my new (Sep/ Oct 
96) issue of _Handwoven Magazine_.  In the 'story cloth' section which 
features projects woven by readers, there's a picture of Jeanine Martinsen of 
Orcas, Washington, with one of her two Fjords.  She's woven saddle blankets 
for both of them.
 
There's also a big section of the magazine this time 'round on "Nordic 
Traditions" including Norse Lichen Dyes, Old Looms of Norway, and some of the 
weaving techniques found there.
 
So if you've ever had a hankering to weave your own saddle blankets, take 
heart, you aren't alone.
