No, that is not what I recall.  I am working off your post below which
is the LT.

"I used  DFSee to clone the W2K wWarp 4.0 partition to the laptop.  It
didn't work (OS/2 !! SYS01475).
As I understand it, BootManager won't work with vista, so I am stuck
with the Windows Bootloader which appears to work as OS/2 tries to boot,
but never gets off the ground apparently due to the system files missing
(according to the error message).  I agree with the drive letter
assessment, but as I said, I have a chicken and egg problem in that I
haven't got a clue if OS/2 calls the Vista partition C: and the Warp 4.0
D: or assigns C: to the Warp 4.0 partition which of course would cause
the "unable to operate"."

What effect does the HDD have on how the CD boots?

So you DO seem to have a functioning UpDtCD?

What process in DFSee did you use to copy the existing W4 partition to 
the LT?

What hardware was the W4 partition on?

How was that hardware connected to the LT?
