Glad to hear that.  I hope you've had more rain since then.  We had an
all-day soaker today, more of the type of rain one would expect in the
fall, and it only got up to 61 f.  The landlord finally managed to get
the roof repaired.  About ten days ago maybe 45 minutes before sundown, I
heard all this tromping around on the roof and everything started
shaking.  It took me a few minutes to figure out what was going on.  The
roof hasn't leaked since then.  Now he's got to repair the living room
ceiling where it leaked.

Just the same as everyone knows Blacks can take the heat better than
other races and the Inuit the cold, right?  :-)

They are such handy gadgets, aren't they?  Since I live alone, I tend to
have a lot of leftovers, and microwaves are great for those.  I have to
remember, though, to turn off the air conditioner when I'm using the
microwave.  I forgot Friday night and managed to blow a fuse.  I'm
already trying to decide what to do with my portion of the next retro
pay.  Our contract was up July 1, and I haven't heard that our union has
settled yet, although the other union has.  The state doesn't have a
budget yet, and they're saying the legislature won't ratify any contracts
until they have a budget.  It'll probably be next summer before we get
our retro pay.  Maybe I'll get a VCR or a CD player or maybe I'll do
something sensible like use it as part of a car payment.
