| subject: | ATM Plop mirror cell optimizing question |

A request to all the atm software aficionados out there,
I've been fooling around with David Lewis' mirror cell optimization program
_Plop_ for a few months now, and can't seem to generate 36 or 54 point
ploptimizations, either using the automatic cell design function or in
verbose mode.
I'm hoping to optimize a 54 point cell for the 1" thick, 30"
plate glass blank I've been building around, but so far the best P-V I can
get from Plop is a rather wavy 3.52139e-05 using the auto design for 27
point cell.
After reading Mark Holm's excellent argument for the use of optimized
mirror cells (http://pong.telerama.com/~mdholm/atm/cells/), I understand
the desirability of a well-designed cell with such a thin mirror.
If anyone out there is more expert at using Plop than I am, would you
consider looking at my input values to help me determine what I'm doing
wrong? I've been through the user manual at David Lewis' web page, but
still can't seem to get it right.
Thanks for any help you can provide here.
Regards,
John Dudgeon
