I'm trying to get my 77 yo parents online.  I've got a Cardinal 28.8 and 
they've got a 33.6.  Both are fax modems.
The problem is that the 33.6 won't connect with either the Cardinal or with a 
standard FAX machine.
On another echo someone gave me a very erudite discussion of how two 
different chipsets can have problems talking to each other.  Unfortunately, 
the "Professor" never answered my request for practical solutions.
My Cardinal's init string is:  AT&F&C1&D2
Any suggestions?
