subject: v.34 Split Speeds

Hi Steven,

SA> Yes, V.34 does allow for Split Speeds (As the ASL did in USR modems

SA> no split speed you are stuck on 19k2/19k2...

Split speeds is a great thing to have. It's a pity that there are
supposedly v.34 compliant modems out there that don't do split speeds.
AFAIK the more reputable brand name modems have this feature e.g. USR,
Motorola, Supra, Maestro and I think Netcomms too.

I guess it's still true that you pay for what you get.
