PE> Whoops, this was a deadly combination. After 7 aborted calls, none

PE> Correction, Binkley, after reporting "RINGING", and then a
PE> few lines of stats from the connect, decides to swallow the
PE> rest of the lines. When I dialed manually, there were
PE> actually about 7 lines of connect messages, then the CONNECT
IS> FAQ .. 'RingTries 10' or so in binkley.cfg will fix that, even with v2.50.
I had a smile on my face when I saw that parameter when I was looking
at the code. The smile disappeared when I found mine was set to 40.
IS> Bink regards any incoming non-CONNECT line during dialout as if it were a
IS> 'RINGING' line, and the default for RingTries is 3 or 4. Everyone with a
IS> Rockwell modem with S95 setup to give full responses has run into this one.
I don't know where my "40" figure came from, it may have been
the default, or it may have been what I was told to use by my
old boss.
Not to worry, nothing that changing a strnicmp to strncmp can't
fix! Thank god for source code! BFN. Paul.
