DC>-> On 09-09-95 15:34, Hap Newsom got back to Dan Ceppa
DC> DC>It's sloop rigged. However, the jib, at least the one I have,
DC> DC>doesn't reach to the shrouds. I think there is a larger one
DC> HN> Thats gotta make it crowded when you have a full crew eh?!
DC>Not too bad, actually. The stays are not that far behind the
DC>mast. With the small jib, the entire cockpit is clear.
And you have a small crew ! At 5'8" and a little AJay alone can take
up a bit of space, even in the Soling. When you add in the tubby father
and the mother to the mix, well, I don't think I'll ask if I can borrow
your C-lark!
DC> HN> You've got all winter to plan strategy and visit the library and look
DC> HN> up books on racing strategy! I'll bet your're gonna be a wizard by
DC> HN> spring!
DC>I hope so! We haven't been in the first starting sequence
DC>all this year, so I'm a bit out of practice. We pretty much
DC>watch the A fleet's tactics and judge our start from them.
DC>Also, our starting sequence is only 3 minutes as compared
DC>with the 10 warning we get on Thur.
DC>With luck, I'll be able to get both days off so I can race
DC>each of them. If not, I think i can get out of work early
DC>enough to make the Thur races. As I have to rig the dinghy,
DC>I'll try to arrange that for a regular day off...
DC>the Thur
Let us know how you did!
