John,
I haven't got any real experience with the larger cells in Plop. It is
surprising that the 36 and 54 point options in the automatic configuration
screen don't work. the files seem to be missing from the setup package.
One could e-mail David Lewis about that. Perhaps he simply forgot to put
them in.
David has a more agile mind than mine when it comes to the issues involved
in the larger cells. Things like using symmetry to simplify the setup for
example.
You might try asking him directly for help. For a quite large mirror like
yours, he might be willing to help out.
If you send me the details for your mirror I will play around a little and
see if I can get anywhere. I have diameter and thickness from your message
but need
focal length and diagonal diameter. Reasonable estimates are good enough.
Focal length matters because Plop actually takes the saggita into account.
(I think.) Secondary diameter matters because Plop ignores the part of the
mirror that will be in shadow. (Ignores it's optical effect, not it's
mechanical effect on the rest of the mirror.)
