subject: In Dos it worx, in Win it

SS> Hi All,

SS> So I have made this routine (see beneath) but it only works in DOS!
  > This is realy weird, but in windows it has NO EFFECT AT ALL! ;(
SS> Any idea's?
It actually works just fine in Windows, it's just that each DOS
app that is run in a DOS window inside Windows is run inside a
seperate virtual dos machine, with it's own *seperate* memory
space, including it's own *seperate* environment. When you close
the app, the changes to the individual environment are lost.
There is, however, a way to make changes to the parent
environment that will survive the closure of the dos process.
