I thought overall it was a good portrayl of blind people when you take into
consideration that it spanned from about 1941 to about 1953 when there wasn't
nearly as much resource help available to us then.
The blind girl had a dog guide, Chang, that growled at her future husband
when they first met I think he tried to give her a hug and Chang growled, but
in that time which would have been either late 1941 or early 1942 the
breeding was not nearly as refined as it is today. In fact, in that era, the
schools that did exist did not do much of their own breeding but took
whatever dogs they could get from the local area pounds so dogs being a bit
over possessive was more of a problem then.
I haven't read the book on which this movie was based, but I thought over all
it was a good film.
