" Majlis' National Security and Foreign Policy Commission has
dispatched a special representative, Reza Talaie-Nik, to the scene of
Monday's Antonov plane crash to gather information on the crash, IRNA
reported.

Alaeddin Boroujerdi, chairman of the commission, told IRNA that the
commission will thoroughly follow up the incident.

He said that a rescue and relief operation has ended and bodies of martyrs
of the crash have been moved from the site.

An Antonov-74 military plane belonging to the Islamic Revolution's Guard
Corps (IRGC) crashed at 7:20 am today (0350 GMT) after one of its engines
caught fire while it was attempting to take off from Tehran's Mehrabad
International Airport. It was bound for the southern city of Shiraz.

The IRGC, in a statement issued after the crash, said that 30 revolutionary
guards along with the plane's six crew were martyred.

Two of the plane's passengers, both revolutionary guards, were saved but
suffered injuries and have been rushed to hospital, the statement further
said. "

There seems to be a lot of poor luck happening wrt Revolutionary Guards
Officers & flying.
