I was actually claiming that a modem (Rod's V32bis Supra) which has
problems talking to _both_ the Courier and the Spirit at V32bis was iffy.  



You then stated that I must call the other brands you mentioned iffy (see above).  



So, I asked about their relationship with your Courier. As you concede that
they do not have the particular problem, I do not see any reason at all why
I must call them iffy.  



On the quite separate "double-send" issue, the newer Maestro
V32bis modems did not exhibit it at all when talking to a Spirit II. As the
Spirit II has not changed, therefore the newer version Maestro V32bis
modems must have been "fixed".
