sure there is... i keyed in a program from PC Computing a long time back that
did several million colors on a CGA tandy 1000. it used "blending" or
"dithering" to get the colors. on a normal CGA monitor, it didn't look all
that good because you could actually see the seperate pixels... but on a TV
monitor, the pixels were blended and appeared to be one color. FWIW: this is
also the same method that TheDraw used to get additional "colors"...
ie: use character #176, #177 or #178 with different background and foreground
colors. you'll see pretty close to what is being discussed or described.
