subject: Several Questions

CG> 1. Lock out a user that has a baud rate of 2400 or
CG> under. I noticed in the DOC's that the command [B2400]
CG> will show the rest of a line ONLY if the user is

 CG> `reverse' this?
max.ctl:
% The following statements tell Maximus what baud rate the user
% must have to get access to certain features. 'Logon Baud'
% specifies what the user's baud rate must be just to get on
% the system -- this is in addition to the minimum baud rates
% specified below in the 'Session Limits' portion of the Session
% section. The second statement, 'NonTTY Baud', tells Maximus
% what speeds users must call at to use either ANSI or AVATAR
        % graphics.
        Min Logon Baud 300
        Min NonTTY Baud 300
(this is like the global system speed)
access.ctl:
% LogonBaud This is the lowest baud rate that a user
% at this level may use. The default is that
% any baud rate is acceptable.
    %
% XferBaud This is the lowest baud rate that a user
% at this level may used to download files.
% The default is that a caller at any baud
% rate is allowed to download.
CG> 2. Change the Maximus Full Screen Editor menu. [maxed]
CG> Is the token to do this, but how am I meant to use it?
like when you hit Ctrl+K + Ctrl+H or F10? that's done under the menu "EDIT"
in menus.ctl. extra options show (insert line etc) in Bored.

CG> 3. Make a custom log in screen (similar to obv/2, iniq, and other BBS
CG> packages). BTW, I dont mean a log in screen as a matrix menu).
CG> All I want is one of my ansi's
CG> displayed and users to be able to enter in their
CG> Name/Alias and Password in lines that I select.
sure. make up your ansi, then use ans2mec on it. then at the bottom have it
go to the line you want with a [locate y x] command. Then change english.mad
(or whatever language file you're using) so that the login prompt is
something like:
" Login: "
 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
where this part fits in with the ansi it's being displayed over (so it
basically redoes the ansi then asks for the name)..
do the same thing with "Password:" ... i'm not sure if you can display the
"Name [Y,n]?" thing like that or not...
i can probably crank something out in pascal if you want, but let me know if
that works first.
