RB>> Rod, I believe my USR can Speedshift from 19200 to 31200

RB>> WITHOUT a RETRAIN. You comments would be appreciated

RS> Sure, I could have said that rather more carefully in the first place.

RS> Its quite clear that V32bis, V34 and VFC can shift

RS> speed without a full retrain, and thats usually

RS> called rate renegotiation, or fall forward/back.

RS> BUT, ONLY in the special case of V32terbo, I dont recall that is

RS> possible to go from V32bis to V32terbo like that, and in that case

RS> it may well require a retrain,

Yes you are right, you can not speedshift from one protocol to another.

You must retrain.

or a retrain to see if V32terbo is

RS> possible when currently running V32bis, and that looks like it may

RS> well be what the Courier is attempting to do just after a V32bis

RS> call when its got V32terbo enable, explaining why we see the what

RS> looks like nutty immediate retrain just after the connect.

RS> I dont think I've ever actually see a full spec on

RS> V32terbo, so its not easy to check what the story is there.

And I have never had a V32terbo Connect, ever.

RS> Paul and I tried the S34.2=1 on the Courier this am, and it doesnt stop

RS> that behaviour. S34.7=1, disabling the V32terbo completely, does tho.

I may just disable V32terbo fromnow on anyway.
