Bob, I've now installed my Word 97 and did not see greyed-out but usable 
template buttons.  What I did see is that template buttons which were not 
available for the document were grey which I would consider an advantage.
My sense is that template buttons for a document which are available are 
clearly visible.  And if it helps, I'm using an S3 card with 2MB ram so that 
my display is 800x600x65K.

Only one day of playing so far but the integration is obvious.  Being able to 
load my Explorer from Word is a real plus.
