DB}  Hi Deborah--- my name is Diane Bruck and I'm the one that started
this slug problem question.  I stepped on one with my bare feet while
looking over the plants in the early evening. MAN did I ever wash my
foot THOROUGHLY when I went immediately into the house. I knew that salt
killed them but didn't even think about putting salt around the flowers.
I'd need about 10-12 large containers of salt to cover 3/4 of the flower
beds that I have. Thanks for the idea. I bet you'd have to real careful
while watering though. (VVBG)!

    As mentioned before, salt is not a very good idea.  But you 
could try DE (diatomaceous earth).
