While listening to Paul Edwards Pete heard:netcomm online!

G'day Paul

PE> As of 1996-02-21T10:55 I now have a Netcomm M34F online. So far
PE> there have been no reported problems. I don't like the fact
PE> that the "Mode 1" light keeps on flashing, but it is like that
PE> to report the speed it is operating at (why didn't they make the
 PE> default all-3 on = 28800?). Anyway, assuming I overcome my 3 Hz
PE> headache, let's see how she goes. Do your worst!

It is annoying but you get use to it :-)

PE> So far the only thing I have changed is to go "ATS0=0 and
AT&W".

if that's all you've changed from default then you better also set
&D2 &K3 #A0 \V1 %U2

&D2 = hangup when dtr goes low
&K3 = force CTS/RTS flow control
#A0 = deny remote access (stops people screwing with your modem)
\V1 = enhanced connect msgs
%U2 = extended connect msgs ie, CONNECT 28800/LAP-M/V42bis/DEC etc.

oh and one thats not documented you might like to play with #Tn where
n= "the Tx level in -dB" , same as %L except it'll let you go louder
than -11dB :-)
