But, seriously, if you want to, you can recycle the stuff by elutriation
- which just means putting it into a relatively tall container with
transparent sides, with some clean water, and stirring it up good. The
biggest particles settle out first, then the finer ones, and so on. If you
are very broke and pretty dextrous, you can separate the grits out. In
fact, some of the really finer grits are labeled in some places as
"1-minute" grits - meaning, that, on the average, they settle out
of a suspension of some fixed depth in a minute. Probably a meter depth, I
bet. Guy B
