Hi Rick!   Thanks for the testing tips!  I guess if the data
compression is working, the large text file upload should upload quiker
with the v42.bis data compression enabled at 28.8 or 33.6 right?
Comparing it to a data compression disabled upload time of the same
file should give me a pretty good idea what the rates are and if the
data compression is working. 
 
I will definately try that out when I get my new 56k modem!
Unfortunately, I will only be able to check it out at 28.8k as my
current BBS's I call (and ISP) are only 28.8k.  But I guess there was
never a problem with either Sporster on the internet.  Anyway thanks
