subject: Hemp and pot

MS>preserve our environment. Now a days it is the kids who are being taught
MS>about the environment, its the kids who are the big recyclers and are
MS>encouraging their parents to get involved. The School is sending a Mixed
MS>message to the kids by suspending them for wearing Hemp. The kids know
MS>they cant get high of it and I think most of them are also aware that
I doubt whether the kids think of the Hemp jewelry that way - it's
cool, and it's a stick in the eye to the administration. Deserved, but still
a stick. The Administration carries things a bit too far. Perhaps you read
my article on Reader's Digest... this is the thinking that needs to be
corrected. Granted they have a case, a very very specific one - which
ignores the other 99.99999999% of the cases. I have the ignominious
privilege to be a part of the
community that gained national prestige over the Midol incident.
MS>hemp is an organic plant and they also know its better for our
MS>environment than Dupont created synthetic fibers or chemically doused
MS>cotton. Hey if hemp is "Cool" or "trendy" with the younger crowds and
MS>you cant get stoned off it..Whats the Problem???
Beats me. I still can't figure the people who think getting buzzed is
a bad thing, particularly since it also carries virtually zeroe health
penalties, and actually accrues some benefits. Not being able to get stoned
is just another black mark for the
nay-sayers when they denigrate hemp, because we all know it's a pretty
versatile product. Honestly, I don't even see the need for the reduced THC
strain of industrial hemp, except to satisfy the political requirements of
appearing to 'do good'.
MS>I really havent seen to many hemp clothing articles with big pot leafs
MS>printed on them, which may be the problem. I actually think most of the
MS>hemp clothing out there today are beautiful! If you didnt tell anyone it
MS>was made from Hemp....no one would know!
MS>Mike..
Very true. I own a couple of hemp shirts that I wear proudly, and
tell everyone what they're made of...as well as buy every hemp product I can.
We even bought some expensive yards of hemp canvas and made shopping bags
out of them, which I take to the store in lieu of using the plastic bags they
use nowadays. Eventually going to get some hemp paper. Sad thing is, ALL of
the products come from other countries.
