While listening to Peter McGrath Pete heard:USR Courier???

G'day Peter

PC> PM> Yep and I won't say the "H" word either (much worse IMHO)
PC> PM> I've never had any problems with "N"'s other than they are
PC> PM> always 1 step behind the technology & not user upgradable.

 PC> The "N" "S" modem series are.

PM> Not really user >upgradable<, e.g. once v34 bis is approved its
PM> either back to the manufacturer, or buy a new modem. Sure they
PM> allow you to load bug fixes into the flash rom (and thats a good
PM> thing), but thats about it.

True but you could say the same thing about most modems, the USR is
one of the few that are upgradable, someone mentioned the top end
Motorolla is but i don't know for sure.

 PC> PM> btw I recently ordered a "U" to replace the Hopeless,
 PC> PM> Horrible, Handicapped, Heap if sh*t, "H",
"H", "H"......,

PC> Doh! what modem starts with "H"

PM> trick question! "modem" certainly ain't what I'd call
it....

***********ZAP Ahhh now i get it, it's a Hay#% NO CARRIER
