Well I just tried it yet again - from scratch. Below is the output from
running instpdr.exe:
Merging EAs ...
Validating PPD encoding ...

Updating driver table ...
The following printers have been imported into the PostScript driver:
LaserWriter-Select 310 v52_5
Select "OK" to close this window.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
reading the actual HELP from the application button it says, in part :
Import PostScript Printer Definition
Allows you to add support for a new PostScript printer to the PSCRIPT
PrinterPak driver by importing a vendor-supplied PPD file.
Note that all imported PPD files are saved to a subdirectory of the
local repository. Whenever you import a new PPD file, all of the saved
PPD files are automatically re-imported along with it. This is necessary
because the PrinterPak file containing imported drivers (AUXPRINT.PAK)
needs to be recreated from scratch every time an import is performed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well -- no subdirectory was ever created - the PPD file was not
duplicated within the repository tree.
Not knowing what is the basis of the naming of that subdirectory (this
under eCSV2.0RC4 BTW), I can't even create a subdirectory of
\os2\dll\pscript\ and put a copy of the PPD file there! :-(
I'd send a cc to Alex Taylor, but have mislaid his Japan e-mail address,
where he has the 50mbps link via Yahoo!]
Regards,
Mike
