SA> Also TX and RX are used......

I prefer TxD and RxD over the lot of 'em :)

PW> SA> TR - Terminal ready

PW> I like DTR better...

SA> Yeah, even better 'The Data Terminal is READY'.. :)

And do that for the rest of the lights... And make the modem about the size

of UNIVAC? :)

PW> SA> MR - Modem ready (Goes out on line hits (Retrains etc..)

PW> Oh... DSR could be used too... But MR is better (in this case :)

SA> Yes, I dont belive it.. Somethings right! :)

Yup... Me fussy :)

PW> SA> RS - Request to Send

PW> SA> CS - Clear to Send

PW> Like I said, should be RTS and CTS - I'm very fussy, aren't I?

 SA> Yup. Sure are! :)

You want a smack in the head? :)

PW> SA> SYN - Sync Mode

PW> SA> ARQ/FAX - FAX/Error Control (Flashes when Errors Detected)

PW> Cool... BTW if those are for the Courier, on the Sportsters, do they

SA> I dont know, i have had NOTHING to do with Sporsters...

Ah well - Couriers are supposed to be better than Sportsters, aren't they?

PW> have different LEDs? I think I've seen a USR that had LEDs for

PW> error-correction and/or data-compression...?

SA> Ummm.. There is no data compression LED, But there is as I said above

SA> a ARQ Led (and you have to have Error Correction to have Compression)

Well, my bomb of an Avtek has CP (ComPression) and EC (Error-Correction) LEDs

and they don't work at all!!! AT%C3\N3 to turn on both and AT%C0\N0 to turn

both off don't make a scrap of difference - the LEDs stay off permanently.

Sometimes, on power-up, one will come on. And then I'll power-off and then

power-on AGAIN to turn it off... :)
