JW>> PS I would prefer not to upgrade to an AXE line as it would JW>> involve a number change. But if your exchange can offer you a digital line on requesting it ( $10 & a number change) now, Then this means that part of the exchange is digital and therefore in the near future they will upgrade to All digital. ( In their own time ) So if you wait a bit you will end up with digital switching and still retain your original number IS> It would be the single best thing you could do to improve your line, IS> though. I thought this as well, But in reality, my old ARE11 line at my old home gave me a 33600/33600 connect every time to Dave Drummond (Boss Node) where as when I shifted house I got a system12 digital exchange ( now 17Km from David instead of 13Km ) and my connect speed dropped to 33600/31200 contantly. Do what Ian suggests though, Don't knock back a digital switching exchange If they come begging you to take it.
