It was easier than that (with quotes).  Opera will do a google search on
the URL line:

g "imperial gallon" "american gallon"

So an American gallon is 0.833 Imperial gallons.  Adam thus gets 54
American mpg in his diesel, which is certainly believable and I get 78
Imperial mpg in my hybrid.
