In a way you are correct. But what child would ever think of having sex
with their parents? Unless of course the parents didn't condemn such things
in the first place. Since S&G was such a terrible place then there must
have been times when older men were having sex with young people. Lott must
have been remiss in teaching his daughters that this was wrong.
