subject: Compilers??

PM>Hi.
HS> Ever used a 3rd party extender? Causeway or pm/w are pretty good.
PM>Nope. I think I'd use DOS4GW, just for the reason that I have it. And
PM>Watcom's help is better.
HS> 20-24mb of ram? AHAHAHA, not likely. 8mb of ram will do.
HS> (no disk swapping).. I link my programs with a library 1mb
HS> of size, and it takes no longer than 10-15 seconds to compile
HS> with FULL optimizations on my 486 dx2/66, 8mb ram.
PM>Similar machine myself, that fast huh?
PM>Where am I likely to be able to pick a copy up from?
It's very hard. You see, the people that created DJGPP know how to make
compilers, but they don't know how to distribute software.
So what they did was ingeniously split DJGPP into 5-7 different archives
which were placed on all corners of internet. They thought this would make
their compiler popular, I don't see how. But anyway, look in x2ftp.oulu.fi
/pub/msdos/programming/djgpp/v2/ *.*
PM>TTFN - Paul.
... It said "insert disk #3", but only two will fit...
