I think hysteria is a good word for it.  I described in conversation what I 
saw going on when this stuff broke a while back as being more of a feeding 
frenzy than anything else.  It rather surprised me,  actually,  considering 
the media's usual liberal bias.

That's the real point,  there -- who stands to gain?  Was it Rush who said a 
while back "follow the money"?  Or was that somebody else?

Right.  And of course he's going to go ahead and cook up a "war" (though it 
seems to me that the US is playing the part of the agressor here more than 
anything else) to help him get over his stress.
Another message I saw elsewhere a little while ago referred to 
bio/chem/whatever cannon fodder,  and if that turns out to be the case this 
is going to be very,  very bad when it does go down,  and in the aftermath.  
Even if that stuff doesn't end up global (and I have my doubts about that,  
there's no way I'm going to be optimistic,  just guardedly hopeful),  those 
who do get over there and get nailed by it first hand are going to be in a 
world of hurt. And those who survive it,  either directly or as family of 
those who don't, are not going to take this the same way as their 
counterparts for other wars in earlier times,  people are *way* too cynical 
these days to put up with it.
Of course,  mr bill is probably gonna be out of office by the time that all 
goes down.  I'll bet he even ends up out of the country,  too.  Or at least 
he will if he's smart.  Legal hassles strike me as the least of his worries 
in that scenario...
