| subject: | Re: Chalabi now wanted in Iraq as well |
From: Phil Payne Don Hills wrote: > > In article , > Phil Payne wrote: > > > >Strange friends Shrub chose. "Suckered" is a good word. How can anyone > >that dumb get to be President? > > Well, it happened. Just work backwards from that. "An arrest warrant for Mr Chalabi, 41, was issued last week over the murder of Haithem Fadhil, director general of the Iraqi finance ministry. Mr Chalabi, a lawyer and the executive director of the special tribunal trying Saddam, is on a private visit to London and has denied any involvement in the killing. Zuhair al-Maliky, Iraq's chief investigating judge, claims Mr Chalabi made a threat to kill Mr Fadhil after he accused the Chalabi family of seizing government property." I didn't realise it was that murder. Has it ever happened before in history that someone in charge of legal proceedings that may include a murder charge has himself been accused of murder? It looks more and more to me like a move to keep them both out of the country. -- Phil Payne http://www.isham-research.com +44 7785 302 803 +49 173 6242039 --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
