I'm not "ignoring" it at all. I'm choosing to not switch on "Variable
Speed".

PM> would have just as much trouble changing speed here too. In reality people

Indeed it would. Which is why when using a WYSE terminal I would
make sure &B1 is set, not &B2.

PM> use "Locked" rates with high speed modems and that speed
would be constant.
PM> i.e. when the modem is configured and AT&W done, that would

You neglected to mention the effect of "autobaud". I want the modem
to autobaud on ALL of my AT commands, not ALL except ATZ.

PM> I imagine you don't think "Variable Speed" mode is a
"bug". :-)

No I don't. I do KNOW that it isn't something I switched on though.
Why are you introducing this red herring? My concern is about NORMAL
locked comm port with AUTOBAUD. E.g. I can pick up my Netcomm M34F,
and take it to ANY of 70 different WYSE terminals, type in "ATZ", and
they will all autobaud on whatever the WYSE terminal is set up for,
and WORK. Straight out of the box! BFN. Paul.
