I have recently purchased and Xtreama 28800bps external fax/modem.
My problem is when I start a download the cps rate s over 2100 but within a
few seconds it drops right down to under 1000.  I receive error messages
stating "bad data packet" every few seconds.

This happens all the time no matter what time of day it is.
Could someone please forward me the correct settings I should have my modem
set to  or explain to me why so many error messages?
