Dismangling (I meant dismantling, but I'll let that typo stand!) a copier
yielded a squirrel cage blower nearly a foot long and only 2.5" in
diameter. That would provide a uniform, nearly laminar airflow across the
entire face of a good-sized mirror. No swirling. Seems to run fairly
slowly and quietly, but I haven't tried it bolted onto a scope yet. The
main saving
grace of copiers is that though the yield of usable parts per pound may be
low, they can often be had for the asking.
