From: "Bob May" To: "atmlist" Reply-To: "Bob May" The problem with the sludge is that it can settle and then gradually turn to a stiff material. The solution is to keep the flow of water for a few minutes after you pour the sludge down and also make sure that the flow rate is high enough to keep things movine (no just turning the water on to a thin drip works here but the higher flows are helpful). Various people have had various results because some wash the grit down while others don't. If you're still wary, there's always the trees down on the street. They always appreciate a bit more water and the sludge won't hurt them at all.
