Frankly I don't see a problem. Maybe because you didn't state it
clearly. If you are in a VCR state of mind and expect that the  signal
has to "pass through" as antenna signal did in VCRs, you just need
to accept a fact that in this case the solution is connecting sources
in parallel and switching between them, assuming the TV has more than
just a single antenna input. If it does not, use a splitter upside-down.
