PH> Can anyone help me to solve a problem? I am running a DYNALINK
PH> V.32bis/V.32 FAX MODEM on my 386, I also have an answering machine
PH> (COMPUTEC Model AVT-901) on the same telephone line. QUESTION>>> Is
PH> there any software that will allow the computer to vet whether or not
PH> the incoming call is a voice or FAX message, and if so then allow the
PH> FAX machine to disengage before it sends out that manic high pitch
PH> sound that has scared off most of my friends from ringing me (who said
PH> "what friends"?). However if the call is a FAX then the call is not
PH> sent to the answering machine. In anticipation of a positive relpy I
PH> thankyou. Please leave your reply ASAP. Ta. PH. U

 PH> Peter,

PH> The simple solution is to buy a fax switch. This offers everything you
PH> want with out taking up any more of that precious hard disk space

 PH> Peter *:-)

Would You know, or any body else for that matter, if there is a solution for
an aggravated problem, being the above configuration (voice & fax) plus
BBS? As I would like to do some experimenting in the near future with
playing / setting up a BBS for the sole sake of trying to achieve success.
I only have one telephone line and I will not get a second one for the one
just to do this one experiment.
What I know so far is, that this might present a major challenge, at least for
me!

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
